About our Unit
Dudley Sea Cadets was established in 1943 at which time there were 400 units and 50,000 cadets throughout the UK. It has stood the test of time and continues to offer the young people of Dudley opportunities, qualifications and experiences of a lifetime.
The Sea Cadet Corps is a voluntary youth organisation, but not a pre-service organisation. Our aims are...
-
To provide an organisation with which young people can readily identify themselves and in which, based on the high standards of the naval way of life, they develop the qualities of self discipline, leadership and a sense of responsibility to the community.
-
To stimulate an interest and educate cadets in the importance of the sea and its use to our nation.
-
To help and encourage those who are considering a career in the Sea Services.
Dudley Sea Cadets are committed to helping all young people achieve their potential and to be good citizens of the future. We positively promote to our cadets the need to have self discipline, responsibility and to work as a team.
In doing this we have a team of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers who give up their time to facilitate the ideals and aims. These range from instructors teaching the cadets to the members of the committee ensuring the unit has the facilities and funding it needs to the parents and supporters association who provide extra support to the management committee.
We meet every Monday and Thursday between 7:20 pm and 9:40 pm for those aged 12-18 and every Thursday between 7:20 pm and 9:30 pm for those aged 10-12. We would love to see you. If you are interested just come down to us and say hello! Directions can be found from the link on the left.
We are always after willing volunteers to help us out either as uniformed instruction staff or as members of the parent and supporters association. |
